Well, hello! I'm so excited to share with you the reason I've been away. Over Memorial Day weekend some of my very dearest friends got married. Words cannot even explain how beautiful the entire extended weekend was. I was so thankful to have 5 long days away from work. A fun trip to Whidbey Island with a dear friend. Lots of memories. Beautiful florals and inspiration. A week spent with my favorite people. It was amazing.

{Bridal Showers}
I'm coordinator for the bridal showers for the girls in our college group at church. Basically that means I throw a lot of showers. The one I have coming up is close to my heart. I have some fun things planned for this one! Right now I'm putting these on my "To Order" list. I think every party should have a touch of whimsy.
Candy lipstick from Layer Cake Shop.
Happy striped paper straws from Bibelot.

So who's simply head over heals for BLDN?? I'm completely in love with everything... particularly their styling on their photo shoots.
So because I now work at a Bridal Shop, I'm entirely inundated with weddings (like I wasn't before). And yeah, I've totally turned into one of those girls with everything planned out. Darn. But I can't help it when I get to try on dresses at work! Really. You would, too. Come on, Mr. Man! Show up and sweep me off my feet, already! Okay... maybe not. Maybe I'm enjoying where the Lord has me, I'll be honest. But boy, I'll be ready when it comes!

{Jen & Joshua}
So I have another wedding coming up. This wedding means so much to me personally. The groom is practically my brother. In fact, in high school I told everyone that he really was, and they believed me. I've completely fallen in love with his fiancee and am thrilled to be apart of their wedding. These two mean so much to me.
Their wedding is in May and will be in Whidbey Island, a place about 6 hours from here. I'll be doing the decor and flowers (of course!). The Bride, Jen, has chosen lovely shades of teal with accents of raspberry for her colors. So inspiring! All of the florals will be in deep pinks using peonies, ranunculas, anemones and curly willow.
And don't worry... I'm sure you'll heare plenty more about this wedding!

{Fall Photo Shoot}
Here is the rest of our fall diy wedding inspiration photo shoot. Done with the help of amazing photographer Megan of Easy Dreamer Photography and sweet Dana from Spokane Bride Blog. We wanted to create something inspirational and attainable on any budget. I did the floral arrangements using things found in my mom's garden. I used basil and mountain ash berry. I wove together baby orange petunias for my headpiece. I embellished Megan's dress (bridesmaid) with handmade fabric flowers and ribbon. This is a customizable service I will soon be offering on my etsy shop. Dana made the delicious pumpkin cake that I adorned with the berries. Megan and I baked the cookies using an amazing cookie cutter from Williams Sonoma. The rest of our props we things we used that we already had, or borrowed from friends. Plus we had the most amazing time doing this! There may be something similar coming this winter, too. :) Stay tuned.

{Photoshoot}
Good morning everyone! It's been forever, I know! I'm still getting all settled into my new apartment... which doesn't have internet... YET. Hence the lack of blogging. I will be back in the full swing on things soon, though, I promise. In the meantime I've been making new friends and we've been working on a little project. Like a wedding inspiration photoshoot! And lucky me they asked me to be the bride!
For your viewing pleasure...
We had so much fun! I can't wait to post more pictures and tell you all about it. But for now I will just say our inspiration is so affordable and DYI friendly. I upcycled Megan's dress, the cake was baked by Dana, I did all the floral with things from the garden. More soon, I promise!
XOXO

Usually weddings focus all on the bride (of course) and also on the bridesmaids as far as fashion goes. I love that the new trend is making the gents fashionable, too. Finally!
Awesome wooden cuff links from Etsy.
This Etsy shop has some amazing ties! I mean, totally amazing and completely unique.

{Finally- the hippie wedding!}
I know this has taken me forever, but here it is. FINALLY. Behold: the hippie wedding. I'm very happy to finally be abe to share this with you. It was such a blessing to be apart of. How often does a florist get told to do whatever they've always been told they couldn't? It was dreamy. I also did many of the decorations which was also very fun.
Me and my Mr. We be cool like that.

{Blue}
I'm ordering flowers for the hippie wedding today. Their colors are burnt orange and purple with gold accents. Pretty, right? Especially when you're trying to achieve hippie-elegance (whatever that is). And then... the groom decided he didn't want to wear the beautiful cream and gold vest we picked out for him and got blue instead. Blue. BLUE. Like, navy blue.
Just go with the flow. Go with the flow...
I thought I would share my floral inspirations with you.
